(Traction Ratio)
Rope tension ratio at the traction sheave ensuring adequate grip without slipping.
The traction ratio is the relationship between the tensions on the car side and counterweight side of the hoisting ropes at the traction sheave. Adequate traction ratio ensures the ropes grip the sheave without slipping under all loading conditions including safety gear application.
