Top horizontal beam of the car frame providing the attachment point for hoisting ropes.
The crosshead is the horizontal structural member at the top of the elevator car frame connecting the two vertical stiles and providing the rope attachment point. It must withstand the full suspended load plus dynamic forces and is critically inspected during periodic examinations.
